Terry Sanford Institute for Public Policy

The Sanford Institute of Public Policy is a vibrant community whose members are engaged in understanding and seeking solutions to local, national and global policy issues.

Since its founding in 1971, the Institute has prepared undergraduates and graduates for leadership roles in government, business and the nonprofit sector. We've fostered in them a sense that in the realm of public decision-making, good intentions and common sense are not enough.

To make a difference in the complex issues of today, students need skills in political and economic analysis, knowledge about how to lead people and organizations and a strong ethical foundation for decision-making. These are a few of things the Sanford Institute offers.
